When I was seven years old, I was invited by my teenage sister to accompany her and a group of volunteer Candy Stripers, to sing Christmas carols to the residents of a neighborhood convalescent home. Thrilled by the invitation to hang out with the big kids, I agreed to go. Since I had never been to a nursing home before, both my sister and my mother tried to prepare me for the sights and sounds that I might encounter. Although I had some apprehension about going, I wasn't about to pass up a possible once in a lifetime invite from my older sister!

Walking the long hallways of the nursing home lined with older people in wheelchairs, my heart was cut to the core! However, I was amazed at what happened when our eyes met. Their anguished expressions quickly turned into broad smiles and there was an instant intergenerational connection of our hearts! I felt a deep compassion and love for these people that I had never before experienced. Even at the tender age of seven, I knew that I would forever be changed! As a result of that first meeting, I knew in my heart, that making a difference in the lives of the elderly was my passion and my calling.  

Now with over 30 years of working in a variety of senior services, I have combined everything I've learned along the way, to help seniors and their loved ones. As an Elder Care Manager, I handle each case much like a daughter would but with the benefit of having the knowledge, experience, and education of a trained professional. 

Here are some of my qualifications:

• I hold a Masters of Science degree from Cal State Northridge with an emphasis in Family Relations.
• I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Sonoma State University with a minor in Ethnic Studies.
• I earned a Certificate in Professional Fiduciary Management for Conservators from Cal State Fullerton.
• I have a spotless background check and DMV record.
